Mate (Ilex paraguaiensis) was born when the moon wanted to bathe in the river. The cloud helped the moon down. While bathing, a jaguar caught the moon in its jaws and held it there. An old man killed the jaguar. In thanks, the moon and the cloud coordinated a special rainfall in the vicinity of the old man. A new plant bloomed.
