Legends and shipwrecks on the rochense coast

The natives introduced the Spanish to the practice of drinking mate. So many Spanish fled their homeland and ended up in Uruguay. Today's beach attractions were Spanish fishing villages. Of the wreckage, the most prized were the bales of yerba mate. They would salvage this precious tea knowing that it would be worth the effort. The interior of the bales remain dry.
